We understand that folks have a lot on their mind this season, and we're no different. With family, festivities, obligations, shopping, etc. kink and relationships can become secondary. Please remember that, due to all this stress, this is one of the most common times of the year for people to have relationship issues. This isn't just in kink, but in vanilla relationships as well. Also, remember that kink and intimacy can (and should) reduce stress. As such, we have some ideas of how to stay festive this kink season.
Make a point of scheduling some time for yourself - whether for a kink event, or with a play partner, putting things on a calendar is a great way to make sure that you take time for yourself. It also allows you to have a "prior commitment" even if that is a commitment to getting freaky.
Toys are great gifts - to yourself and others, kink toys are great gifts. It's not only something that can reduce stress during the season, but they give you something to play with in the future. Just remember batteries and lube.
Use this season as an extra reason to go out to events - lots of kink parties and casual social events happen this time of year. It's a great time to go out and spend time with your local kink community. If you're traveling for the holidays, even better, and this might give you the chance to meet new people.
Get away from the trappings of the holidays - it's really easy to get overwhelmed by the constant music and decorations. Try to not allow holiday music and decorations in the bedroom so that you can keep your space stress free.
Check in with occasional play partners - this is a great time to reconnect with people, and even better if it's been a while since you fooled around. Sending a message to that person should never come with expectations, but it allows you to start the new year with at least having made the effort.
Everything in moderation - eating and drinking can happen too much this season, but so can socialization. Take time to do things that help you relax beyond the bedroom. Try and ignore the season and just do something that brings you joy.
Have fun with your kink this season - there's kinky costumes and even some holiday themed toys (and many are well made). If you are really feeling the season, then have fun with it. If you've a partner to is really into it, then that can be something fun to share.
If you're single this season, just remember that the dating apps can become a bit toxic this time of year, but finding a social gathering this New Years can help you meet some new people. We hope you have a wonderful rest of your year and that next year brings lots more fun!
