Fetish and BDSM in NC

Fetish After Dark is, at our core, an event planning and performance group, and we love BDSM events. They can be difficult to find, however, and we only post events to our calendar where we're publicly performing. So, this is our way of helping you find publicly available kink events in our local area.

A note about behavior and legality: Every state has it's own rules about BDSM and sex, so please be aware that the following is for NC ONLY. We are a limited consent based state. This means that you CAN consent to certain levels of BDSM because they can be considered a sexual act. However, this also means that you have to limit contact in public to purely S&M acts. This means that there can be no groping, penetration, or nudity. We like to say that your "pink bits" need to be covered (nipples & genitals). Behavior: please be respectful of performers. In a more conservative state, we get enough trouble from the religious, law enforcement, and others who disagree with our lifestyle. Being drunk and disorderly is already a problem at most event spaces and will get you thrown out of most public kink events. It's why private kink events are almost always dry & drug free.

This is in NO WAY a comprehensive list of events. However, if you're an event runner and want to be added to this list, please just email us. We absolutely believe in pimping other events for other people. It's just good business. It also goes without saying that this list is in no way sponsored.

Clubs\Club Nights

PUSH - Durham - 4-6 times a year - The Fruit - an event that's very much within the NC club scene, it's been growing for over a decade. Some of Fetish After Dark's staff have built furniture for them (we miss those flaming stripper poles) and it's a great scene! Tickets sell out quickly, so we recommend putting the ticket date in your calendar, as they don't last longer than a few minutes. Parking is a bit rough, but the space is great. It's a very loud event, but the music is always put together by some great DJs.

Singlecell Productions - Charlotte - usually every other month - Amos' Southend - Purgatory was one of the first big kink events in NC, and it continues to be a staple in the Charlotte area. Now on a 3rd generation of management, the event is a combination of live performances, play-to-play areas, vendors, and music. It's very much the feel of the classic goth fetish club of the early 2000's. It's space has gotten a bit smaller in recent years with Amos' Southend breaking in half to become 2 venues. Parking is also difficult, and we recommend getting there 5 minutes before opening if you want to have a better spot. Tickets also sell out quickly, so this is another one to mark your calendar.

Conventions

Carolina Coastal Fetish Fair - Myrtle Beach SC - November - Doubletree by Hilton - Okay, not a North Carolina event, but there aren't any publicly advertised conventions in NC at the moment. This is a lifestlye event, meaning that there are a lot of people who come to this who live their lives as members of the BDSM community. While it's a party, it's also an event where they can truly be themselves. If you've ever been to a conference, this is a similar concept. There is a large vendors room and classes during the day on a variety of kink subjects. They have sponsored demonstrations, socials, and a series of parties in the evenings. The event runs Friday-Sunday, and it's an excellent gateway into the community. If you're new to the kink scene, please be on your best behavior, as events like this are more strict about consent and polite manners than the more casual club scene.

Parties

The Castle Presents - High Point NC - once or twice a year - Castle McCulloch - Many of our regular site members have found Fetish After Dark performing at one of these events. Hosted usually around Halloween, these are a mix of loud party, live music, vendors, food trucks, and erotic shows. You can almost always find Fetish After Dark running the spanking booth, and we usually partner with a local toy vendor to make it a great space. While not always a kink-party, fetishwear and other erotic attire is always a good choice. And while the event might not be kink-focused, we're usually there in some capacity, so you've got friends!

Other ways to find events

Eventbrite - You would be amazed at how many events are advertised on Eventbrite. For folks who have free events, it's just free advertising. However, it's a good way of getting to know what's going on in your local area. It's also a good way of learning what requirements these sorts of events have.

FetLife - this social media site is designed to provide access and community involvement. While some use it as a dating site, it's true purpose is to bring interests and local communities together. It is also where you'll get information about more private events. These events are most often vetted, meaning you'll need to already be somewhat known in the community and have a refference from an existing member. However, if you're looking for more lifestyle events, that's your best bet!
